March 14

We started off the tour opening up two shows with bright eyes. Before the trek to chicago we discovered that our van was broken beyond repair. Luckily Taylor Hollingsworth, who is playing guitar, had driven his van to omaha so we transferred our gear to his van and set off to chicago. We finally made it after a grueling ten hour drive through a treacherous icy winter storm and had a great time playing at the beautiful Metro. We made it back from Chicago just in time for Taylor's van to break down in the middle of the street. We had it towed and the day we were supposed to pick it up from the shop, Omaha was cursed with the worst snow storm since 1972, (or the Birmingham blizzard of '93).

We had to cancel our first show in Norman, Ohio and since they couldn't get the parts for our van we rented one and drove fifteen hours to Austin Texas. In the course of three days everyone in the van came down with a terrible case of the flu. Despite our high fevers and aches and pains, texas was a blast. things started to look up as we were feeling better and heading towards beautiful florida weather. orlando would have been a perfect show had our cell phones, credit cards, and identification not been stolen from our back stage room. after orlando we watched a rocket launch from the patio of the venue in st. augustine. we played with Apollo Sunshine and Christina Wagner. they were both amazing and we had fun partying on the beach after the show.

Next we went to athens georgia and got to see old friends and visit our old hangouts. alan and i lived in athens for four years so its always a highlight of a tour to go back.after athens we played birmingham, al ( hometown for most of us). the show at the bottletree was awesome... all of our friends and family came out, even zach's grandmother. more to come......
